Gill Products Care

Gill apparel is designed to withstand the tough life and environment of the boating world. However, like any clothing, it will last longer when cared for properly.

Gill Garment Care

Please read the garment care instructions inside the garment before washing. Following these care instructions will maintain the performance and life of your Gill gear!

DO
DON'T

General Garment Care

DO rinse out your waterproof clothing regularly in fresh water. Work all zippers, pop studs and snaps to remove any salt residue.
DO dry air-dry clothing.
DO store dried garments loosely folded or hung up.

General Garment Care

DON'T leave garments salty or damp. This encourages mildew to form, which is difficult to wash out and speeds up premature deterioration of the clothing.
DON'T use dryer heat to dry garments.

General Washing Instructions

DO hand wash in lukewarm water.
DO use a mild detergent such as Woolite brand fabric care.
DO rub heavy stains gently with a concentrated soap solution and rinse thoroughly with fresh water.
DO drip dry only.

General Washing Instructions

DON'T use detergents containing additives or bleach.
DON'T iron.
DON'T spin or tumble dry.
DON'T place near heaters, open flames or fires.
DON'T dry clean.
DON'T bleach.

Footwear Care

901/ 909 Gill Style Rubber boot care.

• Rinse boots thoroughly after every use
• Wash with mild soap and water if needed
• Allow the boots to dry thoroughly in a cool, dry place, preferably by hanging them on a boot rack or using a boot dryer .
You may also stuff your boot with newspaper if you want to help dry out the inside, and you can remove the inner footbeds to speed drying time
• Do not dry in direct sunlight
• Prolonged exposure to direct sunlight may contribute to drying out and stiffening of materials
• Treat rubber boots regularly with a rubber conditioner.

912/913 Gill Style Breathable boot after care is as follows:

Clean.
Remove salt and grit by washing under a tap or hose with fresh water. The outside of the boots can be cleaned with a warm non-detergent soap solution and rinsed thoroughly. Use a stiff brush to remove stubborn residue. You can also clean the inside of the boot with fresh water and a non-detergent soap. Wipe well to remove excess water inside and out.

Dry. Gill Breathable Boots should be allowed to dry naturally away from a direct heat source. You can improve the drying time by placing screwed up newspaper inside the boots. For best results dry for at least 48 hours.

Protect. Once fully dried, your boots can be treated with a Shoe Care Care Product such as Nikwax Conditioner For Leather. This will soften the leather and add a degree of water-repellency to the outside of the boot.
