The choice of fabric for sailing type could be very complicated so what Gill have done is created a categorisation of fabrics so that all you have to do is check the type of sailing you do and then look at the number of yellow dots assigned to the ideal fabric for that sailing type. As you can see from the sections on testing, durability and breathability Gill have done the rest on your behalf so if, for example you are a dinghy sailor, you can rest assured that a two dot fabric is the best type of fabric for your needs.
